Waterrower Design

The WaterRower combines an extraordinary blend of form, function, design and durability.

Each element has been resolved to compliment the overall appearance and performance of the machine.

Special attention has been given to create a form which is pleasing to the senses; sight, sound and touch.

The WaterRower’s design has been rewarded the accolade of being exhibited at London’s Design Museum, and in 2008, was awarded the prestigious Plus X Award in sports & lifestyles for its design.

Beauty in Simplicity

The WaterRower has been designed with an attention to detail unrivalled by other fitness equipment. Long revered for its styling, it has been applauded and awarded by the design industry for its design purity.

Refined Design

The WaterRower has been designed to set it apart from other fitness equipment, featuring an attention to design refinement unseen in other exercise equipment.

Patented WaterFlywheel

The WaterRower's patented WaterFlywheel has been designed to emulate the dynamics of a boat moving through water. In doing so, it is unequalled in the nature of this replication.

The WaterRower’s unique WaterFlywheel has been designed to reproduce the precise physical dynamics of a moving boat; the surest way to replicate the physiological benefits and aesthetic pleasure of rowing.

Many rowing machines imitate the action of rowing but they do so mechanically and often lack the natural dynamics experienced when in a boat.

The WaterFlywheel’s uniform mass produces a constant effort through the whole stroke, spreading the work more evenly over the muscle groups.

Water is 800 times denser than air, therefore there is no need for extraneous adjustments.

Self regulating resistance varies according to the Rule of Cubes (doubling the speed will require an eight-fold increase in power), resistance is therefore infinite and infinitely variable.

Engineered for Life

The WaterRower has been engineered to a quality point not a price point. While we could make it cheaper, it simply would not be as good and our customers expect the best not the cheapest.

Polycarbonate tank - polycarbonate is one of the toughest available plastics; used in such applications as aircraft windshields and bullet-proof glass.

Engineering benefits of wood - wood provides substantial strength for weight, absorbs sound and vibration and is impervious to the moisture and sweat prevalent in exercise environments.

Durability of sprag clutch - sprag clutches, as opposed to index-type clutches allow engagement with zero backlash enhancing their durability and smoothness of action.

Ergonomic handle design - ergonomic handle is foam coated for comfort and contoured to fit the natural grip of the hand.

High strength polyester drive strap - polyester straps are used for military lifting harnesses, are light weight, corrosion resistant and require no lubrication.
